A Downtown San Antonio Elopement Session
When you think of a romantic, intimate celebration, a downtown San Antonio elopement checks all the boxes — and this sweet session was no exception. While I didn’t photograph the actual ceremony, I met up with the couple afterwards to capture some beautiful portraits that perfectly reflected their love story.
We kicked things off in front of the Bexar County Courthouse, where the red sandstone architecture and ornate arches made for such a classic backdrop. The courthouse is a San Antonio landmark, and it added a touch of historic charm to their photos.
From there, we wandered over to the stunning San Fernando Cathedral, one of the oldest cathedrals in the United States. With its grand facade and peaceful plaza, the cathedral offered a timeless, romantic setting — the perfect spot for quiet, just-married moments.
Of course, no downtown San Antonio session would be complete without a stroll along the Riverwalk. We explored its winding paths, stone bridges, and lush greenery, capturing candid, joy-filled photos that reflected the excitement of their day.
One of my favorite parts of this session? Their adorable dog! Including their pup in some of the portraits made everything feel even more personal and fun. From sweet snuggles to playful moments, their dog was the ultimate scene-stealer and added so much heart to the photos.
Downtown San Antonio is such a vibrant, versatile place for an elopement session. Whether we’re photographing against historic architecture or along the river’s edge, the city offers a mix of old-world charm and modern romance that’s hard to beat.
If you’re dreaming of an elopement or intimate wedding in San Antonio (or beyond!) and want those just-married moments beautifully documented, I’d love to hear your story. Let’s make some magic together!
